About Me
Welcome!
My name’s Kate and I’m a 25 year old freelance journalist, copywriter, small shop owner, and globetrotter.
As you may have already guessed, I thrive on making my life as varied, busy, and exciting as I possibly can. I began my career as a professional actor and dancer, returned to university to get my Masters in English Literature during the pandemic, and in a whirlwind few years have ended up... well, here!
Of course, there's more to my story than that, but I learned early on that life is a pretty strange bedfellow and I'm determined to avoid the mundane when it comes to my career. After all, the average person spends a third of their lives at work. I'm committed to making that third of my life revolve around the things I love:
Words. Craft. Adventure.
It's a pretty magical way to earn a living.
When it comes to journalism, my main areas of interest are film, television, and theatre. I'm an entertainment gal through and through.
Deep-diving on a feature is my happy place: from analysing socio-political movements in the film industry, to speculating on teasers for the biggest upcoming releases.
I also appreciate any chance to dabble in film criticism (covering Cannes Film Festival was a major career highlight), and always enjoy an opportunity to interview.
When I'm not working, you can usually find me with my nose buried in a book or geeking out about my absolute, all-time favourite subject: Lord of the Rings.
If you'd like to learn more about my copywriting and my small craft shop, you can amble on over here!
